PEPSI: “The Best Drink Created Worldwide” With Enterprise 2.0



During hot weather, the thing I want is a drink. I prefer to choose soft drink. One of soft drink that I like Pepsi. Either it's Pepsi, Pepsi Blue, or Pepsi Max. I will feel very frosty and fresh.

This week, I will describe and explore how Pepsi Company employs Enterprise 2.0 Social Technologies to it's product marketing and sales management strategies.
 
 
 
In 1893, Caleb Bradham introduced Pepsi as "Brad's Drink" in New Bern, North Carolina, United States. Caleb Bradham made this drink at his drugstore where it was sold. At that time, The drink was later labelled Pepsi Cola. Pepsi Cola is from the digestive enzyme pepsin and kola nuts, also included vanilla and sugar as the recipe. "Caleb Bradham sought to create a fountain drink that was appealing and would aid in digestion and boost energy".

How Pepsi uses Social Media for Marketing?

 
From video above, as we can see Pepsi company perform "Refresh Project" for everyone which is the customer for giving reviews their idea to make the world better with slogan “Every Pepsi refreshes the world". This video has purpose to create the better world by combining the idea of ​​the people who participated and Pepsi product. It is one of the marketing strategy conducted by Pepsi Company.
 
 
Boosting Marketing and Sales with Social Media
 
Pepsi uses three social media to do marketing strategies to its customers. The three social media consists of Official Website, Facebook and Twitter. Pepsi is doing sales marketing to explain the wide range of products offered and marketing strategies according to market segmentation. Customers can get clear information about the products through of these social media.

Real Examples:
 
  
 On Twitter, Pepsi is doing sales and marketing by always posting about interesting pictures for attracting customer to buy and promote their product.


Another example is providing free product and undertaking collaboration with other company (such as 7Eleven) for sales and marketing their product with Twitter as a social media.
